Transparency about how we protect the original work created under the Tho Enterprises initiative.
Tho Enterprises is an independent initiative led by Theodore Holcroft. It is not currently a formally registered company or legal entity in New Zealand or elsewhere.
Because we are not a registered entity, we cannot issue officially registered patents, trademarks, or copyrights through government intellectual property offices (such as IPONZ in New Zealand).
This page explains how we approach the protection of creative work in the absence of formal registration.
In New Zealand and most countries, copyright protection is automatic the moment an original work is created and fixed in a tangible form (code, design, image, video, document, etc.).
You do not need to register anything for basic copyright to exist. Registration (where available) only provides additional legal advantages in enforcement.
When you see a copyright notice such as:
It indicates that the work is the original creation of the individual(s) working under the Tho Enterprises initiative.
We use this tag to clearly signal ownership and request that others respect the creator's rights.
Even without formal registration, we expect all original Tho Enterprises media and content to be respected.
Do not copy, share, modify, or use
Tho Enterprises-tagged media
without permission from the creator.
This applies to code, graphics, videos, documents, designs, games, and any other creative output.
